About Craig Spiesman
Craig Spiesman is a retired Restoration Account Manager who grew up in a middle-class family in Parsippany, NJ. He has many interests, and his days are filled with a delightful blend of hobbies, community involvement, and cherished family moments.
Amateur Photography: Capturing Life’s Beauty
Craig’s love for amateur photography began during his travels throughout the Southeastern United States as well as the beauty he discovered on one of his many trips to the Hawaiian Islands. Armed with only an iPhone, he explored the scenic landscapes of the rolling hills of Northern Georgia, the breathtaking beaches of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, the rainbow-draped beaches of Hawaii, and charming small towns throughout the Southeastern United States. His lens has captured sunsets over the beaches of Kauai, candid shots of Craig and his wife Cindy playing golf and sitting on the beach in Maui, and the incredible views from the summit of the Haleakala volcano on Maui, the Napalii Coast of Kauai, and the spectacular nightly sunsets in Florida. Each click of the shutter immortalized a moment, preserving the memories of their life together to share with friends and family.
Golf and Billiards: The Gentleman’s Sports
Craig is a regular at the local golf courses throughout the Atlanta suburbs. His swing could be more graceful, but he enjoys the camaraderie of fellow golfers. On Wednesday nights, he challenges his friends to play a friendly game of billiards at his community’s neighborhood clubhouse. He has been racking up some wins lately in his weekly 8-ball tournaments.
Family Time: The Heart of It All
Craig Spiesman and Cindy relocated back home to Georgia for the joy of spending time with four generations of his wife’s family, all living close by. They all live within a 30-minute car ride from our home in Hoschton, GA. Sunday lunches at Chris and Gail’s house are a blessing—a table laden with comfort food, laughter, and good quality family time. His wife, Cindy, along with her cousin Chris, would reminisce with everyone over tales of their early years growing up together in Athens. Chris’s family will often chime in with their tales of wild times growing up out in the country. He truly cherishes these moments—the love and warmth of family bonds and the promise of more memories to be made in the years to come.
Southside Church: A Spiritual Anchor
Every Sunday, Craig and Cindy attend Southside Church. They love Pastor Jeff and Assistant Pastor Allen. The messages each week are uplifting and positive. No matter what they are feeling or what struggles they are facing, they always leave Southside Church feeling rejuvenated and ready to face whatever lies ahead for the upcoming week.
Volunteering: Giving Back to the Community
Retirement didn’t mean slowing down for Craig. He has joined the local men’s club and looks forward to helping his neighbors in need. Living in a 55-year-old and over community has its benefits. However, it also lends itself to the need for community involvement. As a community, residents need to be there for those who are struggling with home maintenance or household chores. Neighbors helping neighbors is what the Cresswind Twin Lakes community is all about.
Pickleball: The Unexpected Passion
After getting settled in their new home, Craig finally made his way to the community pickleball court. Intrigued, he picked up a paddle and joined some neighbors for a friendly game/lesson in Pickleball. The fast-paced rallies, the satisfying thwack of the ball, and some friendly competition hooked him instantly. Soon, he was rallying with his neighbors, laughing as they chased the neon-yellow ball across the court.
Retirement and Travel: The Golden Years
Craig Spiesman and Cindy are currently exploring Georgia. As a Jersey boy, he has been so blown away by the fact that Georgia is home to some of the most beautiful, well-manicured golf courses and resorts in the United States. During his travels, he and Cindy sampled peach cobbler at roadside diners and booked couples massages at some local resorts. Retirement is their grand adventure. It is truly a time to savor life’s simple pleasures. His iPhone camera captures it all: the mist rising over the golf course lakes, the well-manicured fairways and greens, and the sun rising over the beaches in Tybee Island.
